I’m not one for spending a bunch of money on fancy facial or beauty products. Not only do I find most of them unnecessary, I am also turned off by all the chemicals that they contain. Furthermore, I find most of them (ESPECIALLY the organic ones) cost prohibitive. So, what’s a girl to do?
Well, I’ll tell you what she should do….she should DIY it, of course! Check out this post for a quick and easy DIY facial scrub & mask recipe. I promise, you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen already.
DIY Facial Scrub & Mask
3/4 cup uncooked, plain oats (I used steel cut oats – http://amzn.to/QozaAO .)
3 tbsp plain yogurt
2 tbsp honey
Juice from 1 orange (I’m sure other citrus would do)
2 tsp of orange zest
1. Pour each ingredient into a bowl or mason jar – http://amzn.to/1gEp1tX .
2. Stir well. You want the consistency to be pretty thick. You might need to add more oatmeal. It’s ok. You won’t screw it up.
3. Wash your face and apply the scrub//mask. I like to rub it around and get a little exfoliating action.
4. Leave on for 15-30 minutes.
5. Rinse with warm water.
You can generally store this scrub/mask in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!
