There, I said it. Are you salivating?
My love for ranch dressing started when I was a kid and we ate salads every night. I would slather the stuff on. As a high schooler, I started dipping my pizza in it (ahhh… to have THAT metabolism again!). However, during my youth it was always store bought and bottled dressing that I was using.
In even some of the most “healthy” store bought brands you’ll find: soybean oil, canola oil, xanthan gum and MSG. In homemade ranch dressing? Nope. You won’t have to use any of that stuff.
Homemade Ranch Dressing
1/3 cup mayonnaise ( here’s – http://www.realfoodgirlunmodified.com/homemade-mayonnaise/ a great recipe for homemade)
1/3 cup sour cream
1/4 cup buttermilk (or 3 tbsp milk + 1 tbsp white vinegar – mix together and let sit for 5 minutes)
2 tsp minced fresh parsley (buy dried here – http://amzn.to/1i7pirP )
2 tsp minced fresh chives (buy dried here – http://amzn.to/1pVGt0I )
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt
1. Mix all the ingredients to together in a bowl with a wire whisk or blend in a blender briefly. ( Here’s – http://amzn.to/1c1AhQU the one I have.)
2. Store in the fridge 7-10 days (potentially longer if your dairy products were especially fresh when used).
Yup! It really is THAT easy.
