While it is true that over exposure to the sun resulting in sun burn (especially during adolescence) can lead to skin cancer and skin damage, it is also true that some exposure to the sun without protection from sun screen and excess clothing is not only beneficial but health promoting!
We hear all the time about the harmful nature of UV rays; however, in small doses (10-15 minutes a day or so), these rays can actually improve our health and wellness.
So, with that said, yesterday was the first day of spring – seek out the sun! Let you skin enjoy some of those rays without the sun block. Let the sun help you shake off those winter blues. You might just be surprised by how great you feel.
