Let get a little more “DIY” up in here…

Every Friday for the next few weeks I’m going to take some time to review different ebooks that I’ve had the pleasure of reading.  I’m hoping that sharing some of the information I’ve learned will help some of you out there.  If you come across a book you think I should read or review, please leave its title in the comments.

Anyone remember the time that I licked a goat?  (Ok… I didn’t REALLY lick a goat.  Just go read the post, if you haven’t already, and see what I mean.)

Well, that raw goat milk that I couldn’t quite stomach is still sitting in my freezer… just waiting to be used.

So, when I stumbled upon the ebook DIY Organic Beauty Recipes – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 by Heather Dessinger of the blog Mommypotamus, I got pretty excited.  You see, I’ve been wanting to use that (yicky) milk to make goat’s milk soap and in Heather’s book, she gave me a thorough, step-by-step (with pictures!) on how to make soap (using lye) in our crockpot!  A crockpot!?!  I was intrigued.

Her book – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 (which is 198 pages long) contains DIY recipes for more than 70 different products, including recipes for:

  • soap
  • skincare
  • haircare
  • perfume
  • baby care products
  • toothpaste
  • deodorant
  • sunscreen
  • and so many more.

One of my other favorite features in the book – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 are her two recipes for bug repellant.  I HATE putting store-bought stuff on me and the kids but I also hate to get eaten alive my mosquitos and other bugs.  Heather provides two different recipes that are effective AND natural.  So wonderful.

Perhaps the most important reason to buy this book – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 and start making these products at home is for you (and your children’s) health.  To quote Heather,

Right now experts estimate that most of us have an average of 700 chemicals coursing through our bodies, many of which were lathered into our hair before we could write our ABC’s: potent hormone disruptors, formaldehyde and cancer-causing 1,4 dioxane to name a few.

But don’t just believe me.  Check out Heather’s book —-> here – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 and see some of the beautiful pictures and recipes that she includes in the book.  Additionally, after you order this book you get exclusive access to video tutorials for several of the recipes.

Need an added bonus?  The book is on sale – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1160437&c=ib&aff=249672&cl=165393 right now for 25% off if you use the code save25
