Every Friday for the next few weeks I’m going to take some time to review different ebooks that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I’m hoping that sharing some of the information I’ve learned will help some of you out there. If you come across a book you think I should read or review, please leave its title in the comments 🙂
It all began one sunny day when I started reading about real food….
Ok. Forget that. That’s not where my story starts. My story starts here…..
You see…. this is me – in 2009, in 2010 and in 2012. That’s right. Three babies in less than three years. That’s a whole lot of baby and of course, a whole lot of blessings. But you know what else it is…. it’s a whole lot of ME. With each pregnancy I gained a little weight and if you add that up over all three pregnancies, well…. let’s just say that “little bit of weight” added up to a little bit more than I would have liked. And now, while I’m working on weaning my third, I’m realizing that this weight isn’t really going anywhere.
Now. Before you get upset and annoyed. This post isn’t about weight loss, per say. I’m not here to shame anyone or to tell anyone to start counting calories. I’m not posting the latest “low fat” recipe round-up. I’m doing the opposite, in fact! In this post, I’m going to tell you to Have Your Cake & Lose Weight Too!
Have you read the blog Weed ‘em and Reap – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=249959&c=ib&aff=249672 ? If not, you’re missing out. DaNelle writes a hilarious and informative blog about “Urban Farming, Real Food, [and] True Healing.” She’s an Arizona girl, just like me, and she knows a thing or two about goats and real food cooking. If you stop by her blog, I promise you’ll learn a few things.
Anyhow, DaNelle has written an amazing ebook titled Have Your Cake & Lose Weight Too! : Slim Down & Heal Your Body While Eating Delicious Fats, Carbs & real, Whole Food!” – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=249959&c=ib&aff=249672 If you’re tired of reading about low-carb this, low-fat that and count this many calories everyday until the end of eternity, then this book is for you.
DaNelle argues that by following a “real food, whole & unprocessed” diet, anyone can lose weight and most importantly, get healthy! Sounds easy right? Well… yes and no……
You see, she also talks about what has brought us to this place in history and where we have gone wrong several times over. It all began with the industrialization of food and brings us to now – where pasteurized, processed cheese food is served to our kids and high fructose corn syrup shows up in everything from ketchup to sliced bread. It’s a mess, honestly.
In her book, DaNelle explains how she lost 35 pounds eating a traditional, real foods diet. She breaks down the weight loss myths and then builds up the real food principles. And one of my favorite parts of the book are the recipes that she includes at the end. Things like homemade tortillas, crockpot lasagna, homemade ice cream and so many more.
I’m finding so much inspiration in this book and so much to be EXCITED about. Excited about losing weight? Yes, I feel empowered and the best part is that this MAKES SENSE. So many “diets” don’t make sense and aren’t sustainable…. but this? Yes. I think this is something I can stick to.
But don’t believe me…. check out her book for yourself —-> here – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=249959&c=ib&aff=249672 .
(And p.s. – It’s on sale right now! You’re welcome. 🙂
